Letter from the President

Picture
They are women who study hard and exceed expectations... volunteer in the community... lead with dignity and passion... build their sisters and classmates up... pull each other closer to their faith.
There is a phrase that I always use when talking to New Members on their first day with the sorority: Welcome Home.

It might sound like a big jump and a lot of promises that won't be kept, but that is what Pi Alpha Chi and these women I call my sisters have become to me while on campus: home, family, love. Every moment that I have been with these women, I have felt nothing but unconditional love. They push me to become a better person every day that I am with them, There's chapter meetings on Mondays when they ask how the weekend was and wish me luck for the coming test on Wednesday. There's Thursdays when they go to bible study with me and encourage me to finish out the week strong. There's Fridays when we go to a sisterhood event at an ice skating rink where I make a complete fool of myself, but they are there to pick me up and carry those precious memories to share with the girls back at meeting on Monday.

I wish that I could describe the women of Pi Alpha Chi in a few words, but there's so much that I couldn't possibly cover to give you a true depiction of these wonderful ladies I call sisters. They are women who study hard and exceed expectations in their academics. They are women who volunteer in the community because they understand that there is so much more to life than just helping yourself. They are women who lead with dignity and passion while helping others become better leaders. They are women who build their sisters and classmates up while also having some fun along the way. They are women who pull each other closer to God and their faith.

As my time at college is quickly coming to an end, here is my advice to you: find your own home on campus. Find the women you miss when you just saw them a day ago, and who truly want the best for you. I have found that home with the women of Pi Alpha Chi, and I can't wait until the next time I can say "Welcome Home!" to my new sister and know what amazing things she will experience and wonderful ladies who will be there with her along the way. I hope that everyone can find that kind of home.

PAX and love,

Megan Copsey
